Established in year 2009, Satkirti Filters took over filtration business from Kulkarni Powder Metallurgical Industries (KPMI), a pioneer in sintered filter manufacturing in India. Kulkarni or KPMI is synonym for sintered filters in India! KPMI was established in 1981 and today enjoys over 80% of sintered filters market in India. Mr. Satish Kulkarni, Proprietor and CEO of KPMI, passed out from prestigious College of Engineering, Pune (COEP) and have over 35 years of experience in the area of powder metallurgy and most of it is in area of filtration.

His son Mr. Ashish Kulkarni established Satkirti Filters, in order to focus specifically on filtration business. Mr. Ashish Kulkarni has passed out from same engineering college as his father and further received MS degree in Environmental engineering from University of Central Florida, USA. KPMI not only manufactured sintered filters but also replaced many critical imported filtration systems with its own indigenous design and manufacturing. These systems were mostly very high pressure and high temperature filtration systems, which required very advanced engineering! With complete confidence in its ability, KPMI was successful in providing systems withstanding pressure over 400 bar and temperatures over 650 degree C. Today, public sector engineering companies such as Indian Railways, BHEL, GTRE, NTPC, BOC etc trust KPMI as its preferred vendor in designing and manufacturing systems for such critical systems.
